There are three games involving ACC schools this weekend. Let’s take a look at the point spreads and the over/under.
NC State (-23.5) vs. ECU (+23.5) – O/U (60.5)
Watch the game here: ESPN
Westgate has NC State as a 23.5-point favorite, as they should. But don’t be fooled. This is a pretty heated rivalry. These two schools are only separated by 83 miles, and the Wolfpack lead the all-time series 16-13. This will only be the fourth time these two schools have played since 2010, but ECU has won the previous 3. That being said, East Carolina’s program is in disarray at the moment. They just fired their head coach Scottie Montgomery, and are 3-8 on the season.
Expect the Ryan Finley led Wolfpack to take care of business and win this game fairly easily, but I’m going with East Carolina to cover, just because I think a 23.5-point spread is a lot to give up in a rivalry game. I like NC State to put up at least 40. My prediction: NC State 45, East Carolina 23 – I’m taking the over.
Virginia Tech (-3) vs. Marshall (+3) – O/U (51)
Watch the game here: ESPN
Westgate is giving the Hokies 3-points at home, but the Hokies have struggled at home more than they have at any point over the last 25 years. So the location of this game, really doesn’t come in to play for me. This game will come down to defense, and the Thundering Herd will have the stronger unit on the field. Marshall has the sixth most sacks in the country and have the 22nd ranked scoring defense in the country. Meanwhile, the Hokies have given up more points per game than they’ve scored and have had the most noticeable struggles in their secondary, which leads up to the matchup of the day: Virginia Tech’s secondary against Marshall’s Tyler Brady. Brady is a big wide receiver, with big-play ability so Tech will have to find a way to keep him contained throughout the day.
The Hokies have been to a bowl for 25 straight seasons and they’re trying to make it 26. They stole last week’s game against UVA, but they found a way to win. I think they do the same this week, although, I think Marshall could easily win this game. Look for a low scoring affair. My prediction: Virginia Tech 19, East Carolina 18 – I’m definitely taking the under. The only way this game hits the over is if overtime is involved.
Clemson (-27.5) vs. Pitt (+27.5) – O/U (52.5)

I’ve got Clemson winning big over Pitt 56-10. So yeah, I’m taking the over.
